description abstractThe fiber rope assembly shall be fabricated from a twisted (laid), three strand manila, 3-½ inch circumference rope with a minimum initial breaking strength of 10,800 pounds. The assembly shall consist of one continuous length of manila rope with eye spliced loops on each end. The splices shall be made with 4-full and 1-½ tucks. The length of the assembly shall be 20 feet ± 3 inches as determined by measuring from the farthest extremity of each eye spliced loop. The inner perimeter of each eye spliced loop shall be 43 ± 1-½ inches. The rope shall be natural in color and treated with copper-8-quinolinolate to retard mildew. The minimum length of rope per pound shall be 2.78 feet. Intended Use: The fiber rope assembly is intended for use in cargo and material handling operations by military personnel.
