PUBLIC ADDRESS SET AN/TIP-2( ) (COMPONENTS OF)
Organization:
ARMY - CR - US Army Communications Electronics Command
Year: 1955
Abstract: This specification covers the following components of Public Address Set AN/TIP-2( ):
This amplifier operates from a 115 volt, 60 cycle, single phase a.c. power source; has 500 watts output; has input facilities for a 150 ohm dynamic microphone, a 100 ohm carbon microphone, and a 600 ohm telephone line; and is contained in a watertight metal case.
This loudspeaker consists of a cluster of eight horns mounted on a housing containing sixteen driver units. The driver units are acoustically connected in pairs, each pair feeding one of the eight horns. A tripod is included for mounting the assembly.
This microphone is the chest-mounted, close-talking type intended for use under high ambient noise conditions. The microphone shall operate into circuits of 150 ohms impedance.
This is a metal, watertight case for housing the loudspeaker assembly, less tripod.
This is a metal, watertight case for carrying the loudspeaker tripod, microphone, testing equipment, and interconnecting cables and running spares.
This is a metal, watertight case for housing the generator.
- A volt wattmeter and a 16 ohm dummy load for testing purposes, the necessary cables for interconnecting the various units, and a ground rod are provided. Intended Use: - Public Address Set an/TIP-S is used for the direction of personnel during landing operations by amphibious units.
