Weather Resistance of Textiles: Sunshine-Arc Lamp Exposure With and Without Wetting
Year: 2013
Abstract: Purpose and Scope
This test method provides a means for determining the weather resistance of textile materials.
The test options described below are applicable to fibers, yarns and fabrics and products made therefrom, including coated fabrics, whether natural, colored, finished or unfinished. Test options included are:
A—Sunshine-Arc Lamp Exposure with Wetting
B—Sunshine-Arc Lamp Exposure without Wetting
The use of these options does not imply, expressly or otherwise, an accelerated test for a specific application. The degree of correlation between any weather resistance test and the actual exposure in use must be determined mathematically and agreed upon by the contractual parties.
Test duration and performance evaluation procedures are covered in material specifications agreed upon by the contractual parties.
