Organization:
JSA - Japanese Standards Association
Year: 2016
Abstract: Scope: This Standard specifies personal eye-protectors for optical radiations (hereafter referred to as eye-protectors) intended to protect the eyes of workers in the work sites where ultraviolet radiation and infrared radiation, and intense visible radiation hazardous to eyes (hereafter referred to as hazardous radiations) are produced. It is not applicable to face protectors for welding. The hazardous radiations as referred to in this Standard do not include laser beams. NOTE: The International Standards corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows. ISO 4007: 2012 Personal protective equipment-Eye and face protection-Vocabulary ISO 4849: 1981 Personal eye-protectors-Specifications ISO 4850: 1979 Personal eye-protectors for welding and related techniques-Filters-Utilisation and transmittance requirements ISO 4854: 1981 Personal eye-protectors-Optical test methods ISO 4855: 1981 Personal eye-protectors-Non-optical test methods (Overall evaluation: MOD) In addition, symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standards and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/IEC Guide 21-1.
