Abstract: Scope: This Standard specifies personal eye-protectors (hereafter referred to as eye-protectors) intended to protect the eyes of workers from airborne dust, chemical droplets, flying objects, etc and the replacement lenses and eyepieces It is not applicable to personal eye-protectors against optical radiations and for refraction correction NOTE: The International Standards corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows. ISO 4007: 2012 Personal protective equipment-Eye and face protection-Vocabulary ISO 4849: 1981 Personal eye-protectors-Specifications ISO 4854: 1981 Personal eye-protectors-Optical test methods ISO 4855: 1981 Personal eye-protectors-Non-optical test methods (Overall evaluation: MOD) In addition, symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standards and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/IEC Guide 21-1.
