Lessons Learned – Payload Activation
Year: 1995
Abstract: Description of Driving Event:
The first United States Microgravity Laboratory (USML-1) pre-mission timeline approximated 20 minutes for the payload crew to activate the payload. Since extra time was necessary for the crew members to adjust to zero-g, the actual payload activation time was approximately 55 minutes. In future flights it is suggested that more time is allotted on the first shift for payload activation.
