description abstractDescription of Driving Event:
The 4-ton monorail crane is used to handle flight related equipment and flight hardware in the operations and checkout building. The crane operator is not able to control the load or terminate all power in an emergency situation because the 4-ton crane lacks required safety devices. The crane operator does not have direct access to the main circuit breaker in the event of crane speed control system failure or other hoisting failure. By removing power to the crane, the crane brakes are set and all system movement is halted.
