NATO STANAG 4479
Parameters and Coding Characteristics that Must Be Common to Assure Interoperability of 800 BPS Digital Speech Encoder/Decoder and the Associated Error Protection and Interleaving Schemes Leading to the 2400 BPS Interface of the Slow Frequency Hopping HF-EPM System - ED 1
Organization:
NATO - North Atlantic Treaty Organization
Year: 2002
Abstract: AIM
1. The aim of this agreement is to define: The voice digitizer characteristics, the coding tables and the bit format requirements at 800 bps.
2. The error correction scheme and the interleaver to ensure compatibility of digital voice produced using an overall bit rate of 2400 bps for slow frequency hopping HF-ECCM transmission.
3. The End Of Transmission sequence for slow frequency hopping HF-ECCM transmission.
4. The point 1, and the related annexes A,B,C,D, describe a 800 bps coder usable as a stand alone voice coder in any transmission system needing a low bit rate coder.
5. The points 2 & 3 ( and the related annexes F,G,H,I ) are specifically aimed at transmission of the aforementionned coder with the Slow frequency hopping HF-ECCM waveform.
