Abstract: This specification is mandatory for use by KSC and associated contractors. This specification covers general requirements for heat and blast protection coating materials for launch structures and ground support equipment (GSE).Intended Use: The material covered by this specification is intended to be used to protect launch structures and ground support equipment from rocket engine exhaust. Materials are intended for use where LOX exposure is possible and where the conditions necessary for ignition are not expected be present.
