Abstract: This document covers electric water heaters designed to increase a sink's hot water temperature to 180°F. Intended Use: The heater is intended for use in kitchen areas for the last (rinse) sink of a three or four compartment sink or utensil washing operation to maintain sanitizing rinse water at a minimum of 180°F. The following may be used as a guide in sizing heaters for a particular sink:
Sink size Heater recommended Under 20 gallons 3 kW 20 to 30 gallons 4.5 kW 31 to 50 gallons 6 kW 51 to 80 gallons 9 kW
