Electrostatic Discharge Control Requirements for the Protection of Electronic Components and Assemblies

Abstract: This document defines the process, roles, responsibilities, and technical requirements for ESD control. Based on the requirements and guidelines found in this document, the responsible party for each facility or laboratory shall identify each ESD control work area. The responsible parties shall then develop an ESD Control Plan for each work area. This document provides guidance on how to comply with NASA Policy Directive 8730.5 (NPD-8730.5) that imposes ESD standard ANSI/ESD S20.20-2007.
