Abstract:
Referenced specifications and standards of the issue in effect on date of invitation for bids shall apply.

INSPECTION STANDARD COVERS, WINCH, CANVAS Visual and Dimensional Inspection Classification of Defects as per Standard MIL-STD-105 Critical Defects: None Defined. Major Defects: (sampling as per specification) AQL = 2.5 percent defective. 101 Size and shape not as specified. 102 Fit nonconforming, (too tight or too loose). 103 Material not number four; medium-texture, fire, water and weather-resistant cotton canvas. 104 Damaged or defective canvas. 105 Machine stitching less than four stitches per inch. 106 Stitching nonconforming to type 301 of Specification DDD-S-751. 107 Top stitch not 8/6 cotton thread and bottom stitch not 10/4 cotton thread as specified. 108 Not double-seamed as per type LSA-2 of Specification DDD-S-751. 109 Tabling not as specified, not one and one half inches wide around the bottom, not type EFA-1 stitching of Specification DDD-S-751. 110 Grommets not type III of Specification MIL-G-16491. 111 Grommets not located as specified. 112 Grommet size not as specified or missing. 113 Reinforcement patch (when specified) not correct material, (No. 4 canvas), wrong location or missing. Minor Defects: (AQL = 4.0 percent defective). 201 Reinforcement patch not properly stitched and thread not as specified. 202 Grommets not smooth, (burrs, sharp edges, cracks etc. ) 203 Marking, not as specified; incorrect, missing or not legible.

Note: This standard is for the guidance of Government inspectors to assure uniformity of acceptance inspection. It does not alter the specification or the terms of the contract. The Government reserves the right to determine at its sole discretion, as they arise, any defects not included herein.
