TENT, GENERAL PURPOSE, LARGE
Year: 1991
Abstract: This specification covers two types of rectangular, hip-roofed, pole supported, off-center ridge, general purpose tents. The tent has the following dimensions, when erected with poles, designed for use with them: Length (at eave line) 52 feet; width (at eave line) 18 feet; ridge height 12 feet, 3 inches; sidewall height 5 feet, 8 inches and door height 6 feet, 2 inches. The tents are provided with windows (including window screens), roll up type sidewalls and a sliding double door entrance at each end. The tents come with a liner, pins and poles, and a tent cover. Intended Use: The tent is designed to be used primarily as a hospital ward or surgical operating room. However, it can be used for quartering troops, as a command post, fire direction center, mess hall, storage area, an assembly area or to house components of a field bakery. Although the tent is intended for use principally in temperate and tropical areas, it can be used effectively in cold climate areas by addition of a tent liner.
