LOWERING DEVICE, PERSONNEL AND CARGO

Abstract: This specification covers one type of device for lowering personnel or cargo from elevations of 150 feet or less. Provision is made for Procurement of the complete assembly or certain components of the assembly. Intended Use: The lowering device is used to lower either personnel or cargo from elevations of 150 feet or less at a controllable rate of descent. Typical use include lowering of personnel or cargo from hovering helicopters and lowering parachutists from trees. Information for load capacities and use of the lowering device may be obtained from TM 10-1670-251-12.
