SPECIFICATION FOR COMPUTERIZED NUMERICAL CONTROL (CNC) - Rev 2
Year: 2013
Abstract: Purpose
This specification provides a standard for manufacture, performance, reliability, inspection, and procurement of a Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) System for numerically controlled machine tools. This standard lists minimum requirements and is not intended to limit design advances.
Classification
CNC Systems for AIA Class III for point-to-point and AIA Class IV for continuous path.Intended Use: The control systems described by this specification are intended for use in the aerospace manufacturing industry. Such systems shall provide automatic control of manufacturing equipment and/or processes, including, but not limited to, milling, boring, drilling and turning.
