High carbon steel wire rods

Abstract: This Standard specifies high carbon steel wire rods (hereafter referred to as wire rods) to be used for the manufacture of the hard drawn steel wires, oil tempered steel wires, hard drawn steel wires for prestressed concrete, galvanized steel wire strands, wire ropes, etc. It is not applicable to wire rods for piano wire rods. NOTE: The International Standards corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows. ISO 16120-1: 2011 Non-alloy steel wire rod for conversion to wire-Part 1: General requirements ISO 16120-2: 2011 Non-alloy steel wire rod for conversion to wire-Part 2: Specific requirements for general-purpose wire rod (Overall evaluation: MOD) In addition, symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/IEC Guide 21-1.
