Abstract: This specification covers the cleaning, drying, preservation, packaging, and packaging marking requirements for all types and sizes of stock and production bearings, associated parts, and subassemblies.Intended Use: This specification is intended for use as a reference in section 5 of bearing commodity specifications and for direct reference in acquisition documents. It is intended to furnish direction in the packaging of bearings at military and other government activities and at plants of commercial subcontractors. The packaging requirements specified herein are intended to ensure proper and safe transportation, storage, and stowage of bearings for shipment to government activities.
