Abstract: This standard identifies the item characteristics affecting design and development of packaging and handling equipment as well as the item characteristics affecting transportability (see 6.1 and 6.2). Intended Use: This standard is intended to be used in contracts for major systems and equipment to define the interface between the equipment and its packaging and handling equipment and the interface between the item prepared for shipment and the transportation system.
