LAMPS, INCANDESCENT, AIRCRAFT SERVICE, GENERAL SPECIFICATION FOR

Abstract: This specification provides the general and environmental performance requirements for incandescent lamps intended for use primarily in military aircraft applications.
Lamps covered by this specification will be of the following types, as specified in the applicable specification sheet.
Type I - General purpose lamps for use in applications at ambient temperatures from −55°C (−67°F) to 85°C (185°F).
Type II - Special purpose lamps for use in applications at ambient temperatures from −55°C (−67°F) and above 85°C (185°F).
Lamp part identifying numbers will be as specified in the applicable specification sheet (see 6.6). Beneficial comments (recommendations, additions, deletions) and any pertinent data which may be of use in improving this document should be addressed to: Commander, Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Code 4141 00B120-3, Highway 547, Lakehurst, NJ 08733-5100, by using the Standardization Document Improvement Proposal (DD Form 1426) appearing at the end of this document or by letter. Intended Use: Lamps acquired to this specification are intended for use primarily in military aircraft lighting applications where equipment and aircraft must operate under severe performance, storage and environmental conditions. Typical lamp usages include applications in instruments and panel illumination, control and signal indicators, anti-collision lights, wing position lights, taxiing and landing lights.
