Abstract: Scope: This standard gives the performance and requirements for new fire hose couplings and adapters with nominal sizes from ¾ in. (19 mm) through 8 in. (200 mm) and the specifications for the screw thread connections on those couplings and adapters. This standard also gives the performance and requirements for the mating surfaces of nonthreaded fire hose couplings and adapters with nominal sizes of 4 in. (100 mm) and 5 in. (125 mm). Purpose. The purpose of this standard is to provide a uniform standard for safe couplings and adapters for the users of fire hose connections.
