Abstract: PURPOSE
The purpose of this document is to provide an acoustic noise control plan for the first Materials Science Research Rack (MSRR-1) for the International Space Station (ISS). It describes the MSRR-1 configuration and identifies the noise sources. The acoustic noise requirements for the integrated rack and the rack subsystems are defined. Also, the acoustic noise verification process is described in the document. This process includes a description of the test facility, acoustic measuring devices, test article configuration, and test procedure. Finally, the noise control process is defined for both the integrated rack and the subrack systems.
