Abstract: This specification covers one type of combination infrared-daylight tank gunner's periscope designated Periscope, Tank: M35. The preiscope is a part of the fire control system in the 105MM Gun Tank: M60 and is used for day and night sighting and observing. Intended Use: This periscope is utilized as a day or night sighting and observation instrument. This capability is made possible by the use of a infrared sighting system and a conventional periscope optical system encased in a single body assembly. The infrared portion utilizes the 24 volt vehicle current source which is converted to a negative 16,000 volts, the required voltage to actuate the image converter tube.
