Abstract: This performance specification covers the general attributes of the common module, Mechanical Scanner, MX-9872(V)/UA. This specific coverage of each variation of the MX-9872(V)/UA are contained in specification sheets attached as supplements to this specification. Intended Use: The Scanner is intended for infrared systems. When the scanner is mounted in an infrared (IR) system, the front side of the scan mirror directs incoming IR energy through a set of IR imaging optics onto an array of IR detectors. The back side of the mirror directs the visual output from a light emitting diode (LED) array through a set of visible collimating optics and into a visible display optics assembly.
