MIL-M-49242A

MULTIPLEXER, TD-1237(P)/G

Organization:
ARMY - CR - US Army Communications Electronics Command
Year: 1988

Abstract: This specification covers the design, fabrication and testing necessary for the manufacture of the Multiplexer, TD-1237(P)/G. This unit is also known as the Master Group Multiplexer (MGM) and is one of the electronic units that comprise the Digital Group Multiplex (DGM) family of cable system equipment developed by the Joint Tactical Command, Control and Communications Agency (JTC3A, formerly TRI-TAC). See 6.1 for intended use and functional description of the unit. Intended Use: The equipment will be employed in the AN/TSQ-111 and in the radio park. It will be used in conjunction with the Multiplexer, TD-1235(P)/TTC, the Modem, Cable Driver, MD-1025/G, the Multiplexer, TD-1236/G, the Modem, Digital Data, MD-1026(P)/G, the Modem, Cable Driver, MD-1023(P)/G, the Modem, Cable Driver, MD-1024/G and the Trunk Encryption Device (TED), KG-81. The unit is intended for use in shelters and vans, and it is to be mounted in an equipment case. The equipment will capable of combining up to 12 group or supergroup inputs into a mastergroup output and decombining a mastergroup input into up to 12 group or supergroup outputs. It will accept group and supergroup bit rates ranging from 72 to 18,720 kb/s. The equipment will operate asynchronously and be capable of accepting inputs which have not been slaved into a single timing source. It will provide two orderwire channels as part of the overhead. Each will be capable of operating at 16 kb/s.
