TIA TIA/EIA-382-A
Minimum Standards - Citizens Band Radio Service Amplitude Modulated (AM) Transceivers Operating in the 27 MHz Band
Organization:
TIA - Telecommunications Industry Association
Year: 2000
Abstract: This Standard details definitions, methods of measurement, and minimum standards for characteristics of mobile and base AM transceivers, transmitters, and receivers, utilizing 6K00A3E type emissions. These devices are intended for operation in the Citizens Band (CB) Radio Service as defined in Part 95 and Part 15 of Code of Federal Regulations, Title 47 (CFR 47) which are known as the Rules and Regulations of the Federal Communications Commission.
The minimum standards herein apply to all channel settings included in the equipment and over the range of carrier frequencies specified in Section 95.625 of CFR 47. This standard is intended to promote the capability of these transmitters and receivers with the communications systems in which they will operate; however, they should not be construed as a guideline for definition of a high performance product. Rather, the individual minimum standards define a level of performance below which consistently satisfactory operation within the intended service could not be achieved.
Although some of the standards herein are prepared as a guide for compliance measurements, familiarization with appropriate sections of Parts 2, 15, and 95; in CFR 47, as well as appropriate Measurement Procedures (MP Series) issued by the Commission is essential to assure absolute understanding of the particular limits that have been established by the Federal Communications Commission.
