TIA TIA/EIA-732-734
Cellular Digital Packet Data (CDPD) System Specification Generic Equipment Management Ensemble - Upgrade of TIA/EIA/IS-732-734
Organization:
TIA - Telecommunications Industry Association
Year: 2001
Abstract: Scope and Purpose
Ensembles represent specific solutions to particular problems. Thus, an ensemble is the complete description of the problem and the solution to that problem.
This Section describes the requirements of the problem. It includes the definition of the information model that represents the solution to a problem. These definitions comprise references to one or more management information libraries that contain definitions of managed Object Classes expressed in GDMO templates, packages, attributes, name bindings and so forth. Also included in the ensemble definition are statements of conformance and suitable proformas.
The fundamental problem this ensemble addresses is the generic management of equipment elements that are part of a Service Provider Network. This includes management functions drawn from the following functional areas:
• Configuration Management includes the initial installation and configuration as well as ongoing configuration changes.
• Fault Management includes alarm surveillance, fault localization and testing and diagnostics.
