RING ASSEMBLIES, ELECTRICAL CONTACT

Abstract: This specification defines the requirements for two electrical contact ring assemblies, referred to herein as "slip ring assemblies", for use on military ground vehicles (see 6.1).Intended Use: The slip ring assemblies covered by this specification are intended for use with a nominal 28 Vdc, power, signal, and control network supplied from the vehicle engine driven electrical system and an audio intercommunication circuit. The slip ring assemblies will provide electrical connection between circuits of a revolving turret and a fixed structure on a ground based military vehicles. Class I slip ring assemblies are intended for, but not limited to, use on the M901 Improved TOW Vehicle (ITV). Class II slip ring assemblies are intended for, but not limited to, use on the M981 Fire Support Team Vehicle (FISTV). Given that the slip ring assemblies are made exclusively for military vehicles which operate under extreme climatic conditions, this item is military unique.
