Abstract

This specification covers wheel-mounted, diesel-engine-driven, self-priming, centrifugal, four-inch and six-inch pumping assemblies for fuel and potable water service. <br>The pumping assemblies will be of the following types, sizes and styles as specified (see <a>6.2</a>). </span><pre> Type I - Pumping Assembly, Fuel Size 1 - 350 gallons per minute (GPM) Capacity at 275 Feet Total Head Style A -Without regulator Style B - With speed/pressure regulator Size 2 - 600 GPM Capacity at 350 Feet Total Head (1250 GPM Capacity at 180 feet total head) Type II - Pumping Assembly, Water Size 1 - 350 GPM Capacity at 275 Feet Total Head Size 2 - 600 GPM Capacity at 350 Feet Total Head Style A -Without regulator Style B -With speed/pressure regulator</pre> <br> <strong>Beneficial comments (recommendations, additions, deletions) and any pertinent data which may be of use in improving this document should be addressed to: U.S.Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command, ATTN: AMSTA-TR-D/210, Warren, MI 48397-5000 by using the Standardization Document Improvement Proposal (DD Form 1426) appealing at the end of this document or by letter.</strong> <br><b><u>Intended Use:</u></b> Type I, size 1, pumping assemblies are for use in transfer and dispensing of potable water. Type I, size 2, pumping assemblies are components of the Inland Petroleum Distribution System (IPDS) and transfer petroleum products to and from large temporary storage facilities. Type II, size 1, pumping assemblies are a component of the Fuel System, Supply Point: Portable, 60,000 and 120,000 Gallon and are intended for transfer and dispensing of liquid fuel. Type II, size 2, pumping assemblies are components of the Tactical Water Distribution System (TWDS) and are intended to pump potable water. The pumping assemblies covered under this specification are military unique because they must operate under extreme environmental conditions (see <a>3.3</a>) under which commercial items would experience catastrophic failure. <br>
