Abstract

The purpose of this handbook is to provide a compilation of information relating to the types and potential applications of hydrocarbon fuels commonly used in ground mobility equipment. It includes a brief description of propulsion systems, details on the three fuel categories (gasoline, turbine fuel, and diesel), cleanliness and fuel handling/dispensing requirements and a section on field emergency fuels. <br>This handbook is intended to provide pertinent information to field personnel such as fuel requirements, interchangeability, product limitations, contamination, fuel-property correlations for use by engine developers, and safety considerations in product mixtures. It is designed to serve as a textbook and planning guide for users of mobility fuels. <br>Equipment manuals should be consulted for additional information regarding specific fuel requirements and fuel substitutions.
