Abstract: This CID covers the requirements for a thrust ball bearing, referred to herein as "bearing". It consists of two hardened and ground washers (thrust plates) that enclose a complement of precision ground and lapped balls and separated by a cage or retainer. The bearing is used to provide axial rigidity and not recommended if radial loading is expected.
