Abstract: This specification covers a 6 cylinder, in-line, liquid cooled, internal combustion diesel engine. Intended Use: The engines covered by this specification are intended for the M809 and M939 series 5 ton trucks used by the United States Military Service in transporting personnel or cargo, towing trailers or semitrailers, and recovering disabled equipment during military operations. The engines are military unique because they are specially designed to interface with the M809 and M939 trucks where no known commercial equipment can be substituted.
