Abstract: This performance specification covers the requirements for a transient voltage surge suppressor (TVSS) device used to provide protection from electrical system transients for electrical equipment installed aboard U.S. Navy vessels and land-based Navy electrical distribution systems.Intended Use: The TVSS device specified herein is intended for the protection of sensitive shipboard electrical and electronic equipment. It is not intended to protect purely resistive loads.
