PRIMER COATING, FOR STEEL SURFACES
Year: 1997
Abstract: This specification covers two types of primer coatings. The primers are compatible with aliphatic polyurethane and enamel topcoats and have reduced volatile organic compound (VOC) content.
The primer coating shall be of the following types and classes as specified:
Type I - Non-water reducible
Type II - Water reducible
Class A - 340 VOC grams per liter maximum
Class B - 250 VOC grams per liter maximum
The components of the primer kit may be single component or multicomponent. The kit shall be furnished in the following sizes as specified:
QT = 1 quart
GL = 1 gallon
PL = 5 gallons Beneficial comments (recommendations, additions, deletions) and any pertinent data that may be of use in improving this document should be addressed to: WR-ALC/LKJE, 460 2ND ST STE 221, ROBINS AFB, GA 31098-1640, by using the Standardization Document Improvement Proposal (DD Form 1426) appearing at the end of this document or by letter.
