MIL-HDBK-1599A CHANGE 1
BEARINGS, CONTROL SYSTEM COMPONENTS, AND ASSOCIATED HARDWARE USED IN THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF AEROSPACE MECHANICAL SYSTEMS AND SUBSYSTEMS
Year: 1999
Abstract: This handbook is intended to assist engineersi n the design and construction of aerospace mechanical systems for military aircraft. It is intended to serve the engineerb y fostering the use of approved standards parts while allowing the freedom to choose non-standard or special parts when a particular application warrita.n tIst is intended to neither tie the designer's hands nor to grant unlimited license. This handbook is intendetdo assist engineers: (a) by providing design guidance based on industry-proven engineering practicfoesr bearings, control system components and associated hardwarues ed in aerospace mechanical systems; (b) by requiring the useo f approved standard partsi n these systemst o the largest extent practicable; and (c) by providingf or the selection and approval of specialp arts, when those are necessary and appropriate, . through the useo f defined procedures.Intended Use: This requirement is intendedt o establish standard design practices fotrh e lubrication of the bearings and bearing surfaceuss ed in flight control systems and all other mechanical subsystems installed in airframes except engines and their accessory drive gear boxes and helicopter transdmriisvsei osny stems.
