Abstract: Equipment built under this specification must conform to the Spectrum Etiquette required by the FCC to allow independent PCS systems to share the unlicensed band. If there is a conflict between the FCC rules and the specifications in this document, FCC Part 15 Subpart D shall take precedent.
The technical requirements specified in this Standard form a compatibility standard for personal communications systems. Its purpose is to ensure that a Subscriber Unit can obtain service in any system manufactured according to this document. These requirements do not address the quality or reliability of that service, nor do they cover equipment performance or measurement procedures.
