Abstract: This commercial item description covers a Vibratory Plate Compactor (VPC). The VPC is a walk behind unit used for compaction of soil and asphalt in building or repairing roads, airfields, parking areas and other infrastructure applications within a theatre of operations.Intended Use: During U.S. Army operations, Technical Engineer Teams shall employ the VPC for use of compaction of soil and asphalt in building or repairing roads, airfields, parking areas and other infrastructure applications within a theatre of operations. The VPC provides compaction in areas inaccessible to larger equipment or for compaction or smaller areas such as for repair or potholes.
