Abstract: This specification covers the design, fabrication, and test of an Operations Central designated AN/TSQ-61, for use as part of a Forward Air Control Post(FACP) in the surveillance and control of aircraft. Intended Use: The AN/TSQ-61 is intended for world wide deployment with tactical air forces in support of CASF or USSTRICOM missions. It must be capable of rapid deployment via cargo aircraft, helicopter, rail and motor vehicle. The AN/TSQ-61 is an integral element of a Forward Air Control Post comprised of a tactical radar set, and communications facilities. The AN/TSQ-61 is intended to provide radar surveillance data and aircraft control for the FACP and to co-ordinate the FACP operation by communicating with higher, lateral, and lower echelons of the air Warning and control system of the tactical air forces.
