Abstract: This specification covers material used for ball valve seat seals and thrust washers (nylon 66 with molybdenum disulfide) in petroleum-based hydraulic fluid systems.Intended Use: This specification covers nylon 66 with molybdenum disulfide material for use as ball valve seats and thrust washers in petroleum-based hydraulic fluid systems. This specification is military-unique due to a lack of commercial specifications that have these requirements and its use on submarines and surface ships. This material is not recommended or intended for use in water. Use of this material in other fluids (such as synthetic hydraulic fluids or compressed gas) should be evaluated and approved by the system technical authority.
