Abstract: This specification covers one grade of Naval distillate fuel: NATO symbol F-76.Intended Use: Naval distillate fuel is intended for use in all Naval shipboard boilers, gas turbines, and diesel engines operating at ambient temperatures above -1 °C (30 °F). Other uses may be specified according to the needs of the Department of Defense. Additives as specified in 3.2.1 are permitted. Gas turbines and diesel engines operating in ambient temperatures that fall consistently below -1 °C should utilize JP-5 fuel in accordance with MIL-DTL-5624.
