Abstract: This specification covers flax or hemp packing material for use in hot or cold water, brine and fuel oil systems (see 6.1).
This specification does not cover all types, classes and sizes of flax or hemp packing material, but only those most generally used by the Government. Intended Use: Packing material covered by this specification is for use on rods and valve stems under the following conditions: (a) Hot or cold water, or brine up to 300 pounds pressure. (b) Fuel oil up to 500 pounds pressure.
