Abstract: This specification covers requirements for rigid syntactic buoyancy materials used to provide buoyancy for deep ocean submerged research vehicles, and other related applications. Intended Use: - Syntactic buoyancy material is intended for use in submerged research vehicles, underwater floats, encapsulants, etc. As such, it will be directly exposed to the sea or some other liquid medium which provides hydrostatic forces on the exposed surfaces.
