| description abstract | This test method covers the determination of the splitting tensile strength of cylindrical concrete specimens, such as molded cylinders and drilled cores. Note 1—For methods of molding cylindrical specimens, see R 39 and T 23. For methods of obtaining drilled cores, see T 24M/T 24. The values stated in either inch-pound or SI units are to be regarded separately as standard. The SI units are shown in brackets. The values stated in each system may not be exactly equivalent; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in nonconformance with the standard. This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. The text of this standard references notes that provide explanatory material. These notes shall not be considered as requirements of the standard. | |
