Abstract: This specification covers the performance, test, and manufacture requirements for the direct acting shock absorber for use on military tracked vehicles in the Bradley Fighting Vehicle (BFV) Family. Intended Use: Shock absorbers manufactured in accordance with this specification are intended for use on military tracked vehicles in the BFV family. The shock absorbers are military unique as they must operate satisfactorily under adverse terrain conditions and extremes of temperature typically found on the battlefield. There is no known commercial equivalent that satisfies the requirements.
