Abstract: This specification covers metallic spiral wound gaskets for handholes and manholes of shipboard and stationary boilers. Steam generators for nuclear plants are excluded.
Gaskets shall be of the following classes and series, as specified (see 6.2):
Intended Use: The metallic spiral wound gaskets covered by this specification are intended for use in handholes and manholes of shipboard and stationary boilers with temperatures and pressures specified (see 1.2).
Gaskets shall be of the following classes and series, as specified (see 6.2):
Class 1 - Boiler handhole: (a) Series 600-850 degrees Fahrenheit (°F) (b) Series 1500-950°F Class 2 - Boiler manhole: (a) Series 600-500°F (b) Series 1500-600°F
Intended Use: The metallic spiral wound gaskets covered by this specification are intended for use in handholes and manholes of shipboard and stationary boilers with temperatures and pressures specified (see 1.2).
