Abstract: This specification covers one classification of a self-generating, type A-4 oxygen breathing apparatus for use by firefighting, damage control, and other personnel. Intended Use: The oxygen breathing apparatus is intended to be used with MIL-C-17671 quick-starting canister to provide fire fighting, damage control and other personnel with safe and sufficient breathing air for entry into spaces where the ambient air is contaminated with toxic gases or deficient in oxygen.
