CSA C22.2 NO. 107.2-01

Abstract

This Standard applies to battery chargers for use on nominal system voltages not exceeding 600 V intended for household, commercial, or industrial use in accordance with the rules of the <em>Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.</em> <br>This Standard applies to <br>(a) portable, mobile, and stationary battery chargers for indoor and outdoor use; <br>(b) fixed battery chargers for indoor use; <br>(c) battery chargers for special applications such as wheelchairs and other medical applications, as covered in Clause 7; <br>(d) marine battery chargers intended to be permanently installed on a boat, as covered in Clause 8; and <br>(e) transformerless nonisolated battery chargers for charging special-purpose battery packs, as covered in Clause 9. <br>This Standard does not apply to <br>(a) battery chargers that are not a complete assembly and that depend on installation in an end product to comply with the requirements of this Standard; <br>(b) direct plug-in battery chargers or cord-connected battery chargers having an extra-low-voltage (ELV) Class 2 output, as covered by CSA Standard CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 223; and <br>(c) battery chargers for use <br>(i) with an internal combustion engine driving a centrifugal pump; <br>(ii) in a marina, boatyard, or other marine applications other than those intended for permanent installation on a boat; or <br>(iii) in a fire-protection signalling system.
