Year: 2012
Abstract: This Standard applies to electric sauna (dry bath) heating equipment rated 300 V and less, designed to be installed and used in ordinary locations in accordance with the Rules of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.
Electric sauna heating equipment may be a
(a) sauna heater unit intended for fixed installation in a special room that is built or assembled in the field to conform to the manufacturer's size specifications; or
(b) combination of a sauna heater or heater units and a prefabricated, factory—built room or cabinet in which the assembled combination may be specified for field installation, or that may be supplied with a power supply cord and intended to be fastened in place or located in a dedicated space. The room may be arranged so that it can be taken apart for shipment.
Clauses 1 to 6 apply to the heater unit described in Clause 1.2(a); Clauses 7 to 12 apply to the combination of a heater unit and the room as described in Clause 1.2(b).
Throughout these requirements, the term "heater" is used broadly to refer to any sauna heater or heater unit, including its associated control assembly.
These requirements, Clauses 1 to 6, do not apply to steam bath equipment.
This Standard includes dual dimensions. The values given in SI (metric) units are the standard. The values given in parentheses are for information only.
