description abstractThis standard practice provides the necessary quality assurance plan for control, verification, and acceptance of HMA pavement. It contains requirements for both quality control and acceptance.
This standard practice provides framework for a quality control plan that establishes minimum requirements and activities for a contractor’s quality control (QC) system related to HMA production and placement. These requirements include a listing of the inspections and tests necessary to substantiate material and product conformance to the specifications. The primary method of field quality control employs the use of the Superpave gyratory compactor and evaluation of the volumetric properties of the mix.
This standard practice also provides framework for a plan that establishes acceptance requirements for an agency’s assessment and acceptance of an HMA project.
The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard.
