Organization:
NAVY - SH - Naval Sea Systems Command (Ship Systems)
Year: 1985
Abstract: This specification covers submersible connectors (receptacles and plugs), stuffing tubes, adapter, and end seals, hereinafter referred to as hull fittings, for use in conjunction with flexible, solid-dielectric, radiofrequency cable and suitable for use in submarine hulls.
The Military part number shall consist of the letter "M", the basic number of the specification sheet, and an assigned dash number (see 3.1) as shown in the following example:
Beneficial comments (recommendations, additions, deletions) and any pertinent data which may be of use in improving this document should be addressed to: Commander, Naval Sea Systems Command, SEA 55Z3, Department of the Navy, Washington, DC 20362-5101 by using the self-addressed Standardization Document Improvement Proposal (DD Form 1426) appearing at the end of this document or by letter.
This appendix describes the uses of the various connectors, adapter, end seals, stuffing tubes, and blanking plugs. Cable data is also provided, however, some cables listed are not to be used for replacement or new construction. Refer to MIL-C-22667, MIL-C-23020 and MIL-C-17 for the current listings of cables. Intended Use: The hull fittings covered in this specification are primarily intended for use on Naval submarines to provide watertight integrity. They are designed to be used as hull and antenna fittings for standard RF cables in submarine antenna system installations.
