Abstract: This standard covers the requirements governing the procedure for chemical cleaning of main boilers of ferrous alloy construction and auxiliary boilers of ferrous alloy or silicon-bronze alloy (Herculoy) construction. NAVSEA approval shall be obtained prior to acid cleaning any boiler. Intended Use: The chemical cleaning procedures covered by this standard are intended for use by Navy approved private contractors or Naval shipyards.
